The Spades breaking up The Spades have announced their definite break-up. With a final tour, the veterans of the Eindhoven rock scene will say their goodbyes The Spades-way.
Denvis' decision doesn't affect his relationship with the other Spades members though. Especially since the restart in 2005, the atmosphere in the band has been better than ever. "We are a group of friends and we probably will be making music together in the future." But it had to come to an end one day, and Denvis's sure to stop at the top ánd with a nice ending. The nice ending will be a final tour through The Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland. With 25 shows, it will be the biggest clubtour in the history of The Spades. "I'm having a good feeling about it. We've released a great album last year, which we can tour on for another last round. It's a nice, cool way to go down." The '2009 Rock & Roll Revue' farewell tour takes off at the Effenaar on April 17th and ends at Dynamo on July 31th. The Deaf, Fury 161 and Ottoboy will be in charge of the support and DJ Dikke Dennis will be there for the finishing touch. Here's an overview of the tourdates:

Reason for the break-up is frontman Denvis. He says he wants to focus more on his other intrests, including his accoustic project Denvis and the Real Deal with which he's currently working on an album. The release is expected later this year and will be followed by some intensive touring.
