COOPER Cooper are a three piece based in The Hague, Netherlands. Bass, Guitar Drums and Vocals. Simple, like all good things in life. Cooper play loud popmusic, very loud in fact. (Imagine old Kinks and Police songs played with a Foo Fighters sound and sung by, let´s say, the Beach Boys.) Cooper have already released two previous albums, "Do You Know Not?" (1994) and "No. 2" (1996), recorded and produced by Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL). During the past few years, Cooper have toured with Fugazi and the Jesus Lizard amongst others. Live they are exciting, tight and powerfully intense, leaving the songs running round your head for weeks after. For most of '97 and '98 guitarist René was busy touring with Junkie XL. Writing for Cooper´s third full length went on though and now they’re back with a new record stuffed with new tunes and played with a punk attitude, called ACTIVATE. Produced by former Urban Dance Squad drummer Michel Schoots, ACTIVATE is Coopers most ‘straightforward’ record to date, combining a hard, honest sound with extremely catchy songs.
